Terms of Use - Purse
The terms that govern your access to and use of Purse, the Shriram Financial Services mobile app for trading, investing and managing your portfolio.
Last updated: 6 July 2026
Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your download, installation and use ofPurse, the mobile application published by Shriram Financial Services (“Shriram”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By installing Purse, creating a login, or placing an order through the app, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by the account terms, risk disclosures and policies that apply to your Shriram trading and Demat account.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not install or continue to use Purse. These Terms operate alongside - and not in place of - the exchange, depository and SEBI rules that govern your account. Where a conflict arises, the applicable regulatory requirement prevails.
App Licence & Permitted Use
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use Purse on a mobile device that you own or control, solely to access the products and services offered through your Shriram account. The following are not permitted:
- Reverse engineering - decompiling, disassembling or otherwise attempting to derive the source code, or circumventing any security or licensing control in the app.
- Automated access - using bots, scrapers, scripts or unauthorised APIs to place orders, extract market data or interact with the app at machine scale.
- Sharing access - permitting any other person to trade through your login, or using the app on behalf of a third party without our written authorisation.
- Unlawful use - any use that breaches applicable law, exchange bye-laws or SEBI regulations, or that interferes with the integrity or performance of the app.
Account & Authentication
Access to Purse requires a valid Shriram trading account and a login secured by an MPIN and, where you enable it, device biometrics (fingerprint or face recognition). You are responsible for keeping your MPIN, biometric enrolment and registered device confidential and secure. Any order, instruction or transaction authenticated through your MPIN or biometrics is treated as validly authorised by you.
Biometric authentication is processed locally on your device and is provided as a convenience; we may require MPIN or OTP verification for sensitive actions. You must notify us immediately at support@shriramfs.comor 080-47185579 if you suspect unauthorised access, loss of your device, or compromise of your credentials, so that we can suspend access.
Market Data & Order Placement
Purse displays quotes, charts, indices and other market data sourced from the exchanges and third-party providers. Market data may be delayed, interrupted or subject to correction, and is provided for your information only - it is not investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
Orders you place through Purse are transmitted to the relevant exchange (NSE or BSE) for execution and remain subject to exchange trading hours, price bands, margin requirements, risk-management checks and settlement rules. We do not guarantee that any order will be received, accepted or executed, and you are responsible for verifying the status of every order and the resulting positions in your account.
Charges & Fees
Use of Purse is subject to the brokerage, statutory levies, depository charges and other fees set out in your account’s tariff schedule, as amended from time to time. Taxes, exchange transaction charges, SEBI turnover fees, stamp duty and GST apply as prescribed by law and are debited to your account.
Your mobile network operator may charge you for data used while the app is running; those charges are your responsibility. We will give you notice of any material change to our own fee schedule as required by applicable regulation.
Risk Disclosure
Trading and investment in securities carry a high degree of risk, including the possible loss of your entire invested capital. Prices can move rapidly, and leverage or intraday positions can magnify both gains and losses. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
You should trade only after assessing your own financial situation, objectives and risk appetite, and after reading the exchange-mandated risk disclosure documents applicable to your account. Shriram does not, through Purse, offer any assurance of returns, and you alone bear the consequences of the trading and investment decisions you make.
App Availability & Updates
We aim to keep Purse available and reliable, but access may be interrupted by scheduled maintenance, upgrades, network conditions, force-majeure events or factors outside our control. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may modify, suspend or discontinue any feature of the app at any time.
We may release updates that add, change or remove functionality, or that are required for security, regulatory or compatibility reasons. Some updates may be mandatory; if you do not install them, parts of the app may stop working. Continuing to use Purse after an update confirms your acceptance of the current version of these Terms.
Device Security & User Responsibility
You are responsible for the security of the device on which you install Purse. The app should not be used on a rooted, jailbroken or otherwise compromised device, as this can undermine the security controls that protect your account and data.
- Keep the app updated - install the latest version and your device’s security patches promptly.
- Protect your device - enable a screen lock, keep biometrics enrolled only for yourself, and never share your MPIN.
- Beware of fraud - we never ask for your MPIN, OTP or full password; treat any such request as an attempt at fraud.
- Report loss immediately - contact us at once if your device is lost or stolen so that access can be suspended.
Intellectual Property
Purse, including its name, logos, design, interface, software, content and underlying technology, is owned by or licensed to Shriram and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a right to use the app; they do not transfer any ownership to you.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, modify or create derivative works from any part of the app, nor remove or obscure any proprietary notice, except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by applicable law.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shriram is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of profits, opportunity or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, Purse - including delays, failed or partial order execution, market-data errors, or interruptions caused by network, device or third-party factors.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law or under the rules of SEBI and the exchanges. Your statutory rights as an investor remain unaffected.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to Purse or these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India, without prejudice to any dispute-resolution or grievance mechanism prescribed by SEBI or the exchanges.
Amendments
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology or applicable regulation. The “last updated” date above always reflects the version currently in force, and your continued use of Purse after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
